THE ANTIDOTE

CELEBRATING 20 YEARS
ESTABLISHED IN SAN FRANCISCO 2006

SOUNDPIECES is a pioneering collective that has been shaping the landscape of San Francisco’s underground music scene since 2006. As one of California's longest-running Dubstep and Bass Music event producers, SOUNDPIECES was also home to the Bay Area’s most iconic weekly Tuesday night parties, a tradition that spanned over a decade until COVID.

What began as tight-knit crew of kids from Las Vegas that were given the chance to bring art and records to a lesbian dive bar quickly blossomed into an unstoppable force of underground raves and club shows, introducing countless legendary acts to the Bay Area. Including Skepta, Shlohmo, Teklife, Caspa, Skeler, GJones, and Flava D, to name a few.

Today, SOUNDPIECES is a globally recognized name in the underground music community, curating events that celebrate a vast range of rave sounds from across the globe. From industry insiders to music lovers alike, SOUNDPIECES continues to offer the highest-quality experiences and the most immersive sound, solidifying its place as a destination for fans and artists who crave mind-bending nights on the dancefloor.

@SOUNDPIECES

Why the name SOUNDPIECES?
When we first began our events we always hung pieces of art and/or had live painters. In fact, neither of the original founders (Bogl and Nunya) were DJs when it all started. Bogl was a street artist and Nunya, the lead director and marketing designer, is a life long artist who was a pioneer of the live painting movement in San Francisco.

We combined art pieces with big bassy sound, they are the backbones of our crew. There were many painters involved throughout the years. We put on art shows and hosted live painting at many events, most notably at the infamous Breakfast of Champions It’s a New Day held at The Great Northern for numerous years.

Why is there a ∏ in the Logo?

Not only does “Pi” plainly exist in the name, it represents multiple meanings.
Pi’s decimal representation is infinitely long and non-repeating.. it cannot be expressed as a simple fraction, meaning its digits continue forever without forming a repeating pattern, that translates our core incentive to host infinite, nonconforming lineups. We refuse to be put in a genre box, we are always exploring new fronts in the music realm, which is how this project started. No one was playing dubstep out, so when we discovered it, we rinsed it. We did the same thing with trap, footwork, wave, grime and other niche styles.

Visually, it represents two pillars - the founders Bogl and Nunya holding up a dancefloor. A perfectly suited rendition of our little club scene. Without either of us, Soundpieces would have never been possible. Nunya supports the Visual , Bogl the Sound.
